These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BalanceSplit mobile application and the website at balancesplit.com (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Rami Lerner as an independent developer, based in Israel ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 16, you may not use the Service. By creating an account you represent that you meet this minimum age.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity on your account. Do not share your password. Tell us at support@balancesplit.com if you suspect unauthorised access. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account, or from balancesplit.com/delete-account.
You retain ownership of the content you enter into BalanceSplit — activity names, participant nicknames, expense descriptions, amounts, and so on ("Your Content"). By entering it, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, display, and process Your Content solely to operate the Service for you and for the other participants you share activities with. This licence lasts for as long as we hold Your Content under our data retention rules described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell Your Content and do not use it to train AI models.
When you invite another person to a shared activity, you confirm you have their permission to share the details you enter about them (including their nickname and email address, if provided).

BalanceSplit offers a free tier and paid tiers (Standard, Pro). Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play, subject to their respective terms and refund policies. Prices are shown in the app before you purchase.
Auto-renewal notice. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, and you will be charged through your app store account, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings — cancelling in BalanceSplit alone (for example by deleting your account) does not cancel your app-store subscription.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. We generally cannot issue refunds on their behalf.
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. BalanceSplit computes balances from the data you enter; you are responsible for checking that the input and result match your real-world settlement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or ten United States dollars (USD 10). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your account if you break these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, limitations, governing law) will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Tel Aviv, Israel have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service, except that either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you retain any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
We may update these Terms as the Service changes or as required by law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
